Nerf Combos!

You guys have been asking for this for a while, so I thought I’d finally oblige you! I did a Nerf Combos video! And this is the write up! And instead of doing combos for a single blaster, I’m going to be going over a bunch of blasters from the Nerf Modulus series. Let’s jump right into it! Nerf Combos Methodology.:

Instead of doing one article (or video) for each blaster, I’m going to group a bunch of the older Nerf Modulus blasters together and run through them back to back. Since I was so far behind in the Nerf Combos game, I thought this would be the best way to kick this off. Also, I’m not going to be doing a bunch of wild crazy combos with 100 attachments on each blaster. Sorry Coop fanboys, but this is not a carbon copy. I’m going to be doing my old favorite combo, or what I felt was the best combo for the blaster when it first released. If that’s changed, I’ll do what I feel is the best possible combo for the blaster today. So without further adieu, let’s get right into it!

Nerf Combos for the Nerf Modulus Ion Fire.:

When you see me in the video, I start off holding the Nerf Modulus Ion Fire. It is equipped with the Nerf Dart Ammo Counter from Nathaniel Deal. I count this as my first combo, but really it’s just a joke. Putting an ammo counter on a single shot breech-loaded blaster is beyond ridiculous.

Combo 1:

For my first combo, I went for the tacticool look. I added the Nerf Modulus Stealth Ops Proximity Barrel. For the shoulder stock, I used the Nerf Modulus Recon stock. Finally, for an optical attachment, I opted for the old Nerf Vortex Nitron scope. In the end, I created a very tacticool looking blaster, which was wildly different from what others were doing. Mission accomplished!

Combo 2:

While the first combo was super tacticool, it just wasn’t highly functional. For my second combo with the Ion Fire, I wanted things to be a little more practicool. And when I first saw how cool the old Nerf Spectre barrel looked on here, I knew my combo was complete. This is my high functional war ready Nerf Combo for the Modulus Ion Fire. Consequently, it looks just like a silenced pistol and I love it.

Nerf Combos for the Nerf Modulus Recon MKII:

As the video moves on to the next blaster, you find me holding the Nerf Modulus Recon MKII. It is devoid of all Nerf gun attachments because, frankly, I don’t like any of the Recon MKII’s attachments. The little baby stock is much too short for a primary class blaster. The barrel attachment is cool, but I’d rather have a long barrel on this. Shall we begin?

Combo 1:

This is the ultimate Nerf Modulus Recon combo! Tacti-cool meets practi-cool in this highly tactical/highly functional Nerf Combo. I threw on the white Nerf Elite Retaliator’s long barrel on to give it that assault rifle look. Then, I put on the older Nerf Super Soaker Lightning Stormstock, because it’s the only other Nerf stock that I use outside of the Raider stock. Also, it matches extremely well. To finish the tacticool look, I threw in an 18 round straight mag and a Modulus Red Dot Sight on top.

Combo 2:

For my second of the two Nerf Combos for the Nerf Modulus Recon, I’ve borrowed some attachments. Most notably, I’ve added the barrel attachment from the Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike blaster. Let me tell you right now, this masterkey barrel attachment from the Tri Strike was made for the Recon MKII! It fits so much better on the Recon than it does on the Tri-Strike. Anyway, this combo is an overkill class, heavy gunner type combo. Along with the Tri-Strike barrel, it has the Nerf Modulus Blaster Stock, the Modulus Targeting Scope and a 25 round drum magazine to finish things off.

Nerf Combos for the Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike:

So you’ll notice that I spoke of the Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike a bunch in my last combo. If you weren’t familiar with the Tri-Strike, here it is in all it’s glory. This is how the blaster looks when you assemble it right out of the box. It includes the Mega dart shotgun/masterkey attachment and an attachable HAMP style missile launcher, which is powered by the shoulder stock. Pretty cool in it’s original configuration. But can we make it better?

Combo 1:

Now this is actually the only one of my Nerf Combos that wasn’t in the YouTube video. This is a basic combo that follows the K.I.S.S. method of operation. It’s still tacticool, but not crazy or overboard in any way. Ultimately refined and super usable, this Tri-Strike combo basically treats the blaster just as if it were a Retaliator. ‘Nuff said.

Combo 2:

Alright, I think this is one of the Nerf Combos that speaks for itself. No? Okay, when the Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike was announced, many people began comparing it to the old Nerf Longstrike. “Finally, we have a true Elite Longstrike!” they would cry from the rooftops. Well not really. But still, you get the drift. So, to play on that, I threw together a little mini-sniper combo for the Tri-Strike. And it looks pretty tacti-cool now, doesn’t it? You can thank me later.

Nerf Combos Come To An End!

There is actually one final combo, but I’ll let that stay exclusive to the YouTube video. If your curiosity gets the best of you, then by all means click the video and check it out. These were all screen grabs from the video and I tried to edit them to look somewhat presentable.
