Here we go again. I found another video to be placed squarely in the “Nerf Don’t Try This At Home” category. This time, it comes to us from fellow Nerf site Basic Nerf. Over on his site, I saw this video of a guy successfully sticking two Nerf suction darts directly onto his eyeballs. Oh boy. Check out the video down below.: Nerf gun to the eye (original.)..
Nerf Don’t Try This At Home: Edition 2
Okay, we know the routine by now. Kids, parents, fans of Nerf Don’t try this at home. There’s literally no way this can be safe. Nerf puts so many safety locks and warnings on their blasters so you don’t take a dart to the eye. They even recommend never shooting directly at someones face (boom, headshot!) and they swear that eye protection is mandatory. This guy wasn’t hearing any of that. He attaches not one, but two Nerf suction darts directly to his eyeballs. Now in my mind, this is what I think of when I hear that.:
Clearly that didn’t happen to this guy. He seems to be okay, but still. This article is called Nerf Don’t try this at home for a reason. Corneal abrasions, eye lacerations, subconjunctival hemorrhages, traumatic iritis, etc. The list goes on and on and on. Don’t try this at home. Now, don’t get me wrong: I am all for a good headshot. But would I ever purposely shoot someone in the eye? No way. Outside of illegal Nerf gun mods, a Nerf dart to the eye is pretty much the only way you can really get hurt while Nerfing. So be safe, kiddos. Don’t shoot people in the face and wear your Nerf Vision Gear just in case. The darts he was using in this video are the old N-Strike Suction Darts and not the newer Elite Suction Darts. That’s interesting. Either he only had those old darts lying around or he didn’t want to waste the new ones, I guess? If I remember correctly, the old N-Strike suction darts had bigger suction cups, which probably created a stronger seal to his eyeball. Either way.

Read those descriptions up above. It says “lock onto your target,” not your eyeball! It says “sticks to any flat surface.” Your eyeballs are round! Haha. So that’s that. This guy has gotten quite famous off of that video. YouTube famous anyway. But a big congrats to him for his first viral video. So what do you think of this guy, Nerf Nation?
