Well the Nerf Modulus has arrived and with it comes a host of new Nerf gun attachments possibilities. Not only does the base Modulus blaster come with a set of new Nerf attachments, they also make 4 separate Nerf Modulus Upgrade Kits that are compatible with any blaster that has those N-Strike/N-Strike Elite tactical rails and stock attachment points and muzzles. Which is to say, nearly every single blaster on the market right now. With this kit, the Nerf Modulus Long Range Upgrade Kit, you get to turn your Modulus into a Sniper Rifle.
Nerf Modulus Long Range Upgrade Kit
Go ahead. Ask me what’s my favorite thing about Nerf guns. Go ahead, ask. Don’t you already know? Look at the name of my site! Haha… It’s the attachments, of course. Nerf gun attachments are pretty cool. They give the Nerf blasters that tacticool edge that helps them to stand out so much from their would be competitors. Now ask me what my favorite thing is about the Nerf Modulus. Yup! You guessed it! My favorite thing about the Modulus was not the blaster itself, but the opportunity it would afford us as tactical Nerfers by bringing so many Nerf gun attachments back to the table. Little did I know that they would soon start to sell the Nerf attachments individually. But, alas, here we are and here is one of those kits: the Nerf Modulus Long Range Upgrade Kit.
What’s in the Box!?
In the box, you’ll find three Nerf attachments. You’ll find an optical attachment called the Distance Scope, an extended barrel attachment called the Long Barrel, and a Folding Bipod attachment. Let’s go over these attachments in a little more detail.
Nerf Modulus Long Range Upgrade Kit Breakdown.:
The Long Barrel looks pretty cool and is the necessary first step to creating your Nerf Modulus Sniper Kit setup. It would also be suitable for a battle rifle type blaster, too. It connects onto the muzzle of any N-Strike compatible blaster, just like any other extended barrel would. The inner diameter of the barrel is the exact same as the barrel inside your blaster, which means this can actually increase barrel drag and hinder your darts when exiting the muzzle. However, the barrel is pretty short, so any degradation of range or power would mostly be negligible.
Though the name of the Distance Scope might imply some type of magnification to help pick off targets at a distance, that is not true. There’s no magnification. There’s not even any plastic lens inside whatsoever. Some people are annoyed by the lack of a lense, but I don’t mind. It doesn’t add or take away anything from the functionality of this scope, mainly because there is no functionality. It just looks extremely cool. And it will definitely help to finish off that sniper look for your blaster. It attaches to any N-Strike compatible tac rail.
There’s not much to say about the Folding Bipod, really. It’s a bipod. Its legs fold up completely when you don’t need them. The legs don’t come together like the Longshot bipod does when folded up, so you can’t really use it as a handrest. The bipod is fairly sturdy, though not as sturdy as the Centurion bipod. It attaches via the tactical rail so you can attach it to any blaster that has tac rails. Preferably, you’d want to attach it onto a bottom tactical rail so that it can serve its function well, but really the choice is yours.
Final Thoughts and Opinions…
If you want to make your Nerf Modulus into a Nerf Sniper, then you can’t go wrong here. With the Long Barrel, Folding Bipod, and Distance Scope, you’ve got yourself a bonafide foam dart sniper rifle. Throw in a couple of the original Modulus attachments and see how tacticool you can get. That mix and match ability of the Modulus is the thing that really helps to make it stand out. For instance, you don’t even have to buy the whole kit. Amazon sells the full Nerf Modulus Long Range Upgrade Kit, sure. But they also sell each and every piece individually. That’s right. If you only want the scope, or the barrel, you can buy that separately. Same goes for every single other Modulus attachment. It is great. What a time to be alive. Haha.
