Nerf Nation! Hey guys, what’s going on? This is Blee from Nerf Gun Attachments Bleenga NERF. Here today, we will be doing a full review of the new Nerf Modulus Tactical Gear Assortment! This assortment includes three different Nerf attachments that are compatible with any blaster that uses N-Strike attachment points, rails, barrel nozzles, etc. And nowadays, that’s pretty much every blaster that has come out within the last 5 years!
Nerf Modulus Tactical Gear Assortment Review
These attachments all came out at the same time, but they are all sold separately and individually. They include the foregrip blaster known as the Grip Blaster, the green “laser” beam known as the Targeting Light Beam, and finally a rail mounted torch, called the Tactical Light. Very cool stuff here! And we know I’m a sucker for tacti-cool attachments and/or gimmicks! So, LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!
What’s In The Box(es)?
In one box, you’ll find the Nerf Modulus Grip Blaster and two white Modulus Elite darts. In the next box, you’ll see the Nerf Modulus Targeting Light Beam and in the final box, the Nerf Modulus Tactical Light will be waiting inside. You’ll also find a bunch of instruction booklets that I already threw in the trash!
Tactical Battery Insertion
So first let’s deal with the two high maintenance attachments, the Tactical Light and the Targeting Light Beam. Both require AAA batteries. Three each, if I’m not mistaken. So let’s pop those in there. In the Targeting Light Beam, the batteries go right in the back of the unit. In the Tactical Light, they go right into the side behind the Nerf logo. For the Grip Blaster all you have to do is load two darts and that’s it!
Nerf Modulus Tactical Gear: The Targeting Light Beam
This is the Nerf Modulus Targeting Light Beam. First things first, let’s throw this on a Nerf blaster and see what it looks like. For this attachment, I grabbed my Nerf Modulus Ion Fire blaster. It was handy nearby and I thought why not pop this bad boy on the bottom just for S and G’s(Shart’s and Giggles). Why not? It looks fairly cool under there and if you turn the knob we can turn it on and activate the “laser.” Pretty cool.
Looking at a Nerf blaster with the Targeting Light Beam on it looks tacti-cool, sure. But what does the Light Beam look like when projected onto a surface such as a wall. Well…
Light Beam Projection
Alright, guys, so this is what it looks like projected onto the wall in a fairly well-lit room.
I also tried aiming at the wall in my bathroom with the lights on. If I aim this, you can faintly see it there, but I don’t know what good that’s gonna be. Not even worth a photo.
And when we turn the light off, this is gonna be your first real look at what the light looks like (or laser or light beam — whatever you want to call it…) When the lights are off, it’s pretty pitch-blacky. You can see the green light project fairly well onto my bathroom wall, but it isn’t too strong or overpowering.
Nerf Modulus Tactical Gear: The Tactical Light
Next up is the Nerf Modulus Tactical Light. Coming in very thin, very aesthetically pleasing, it looks very cool. It’s very sleek and gives off a high-tech vibe. Let’s throw it onto a Nerf blaster and test it out real quick!
I threw it onto an original Nerf Modulus ECS-10 and back into the bathroom we go, this time with the Tactical Light Attachment.
How Bright Is The Light?
I’m back like I never left! I’m going to shine it into the bathroom, first with the lights on. Let’s see what it looks like:
Yeah, you can see that. It’s faint, but it’s lighting up a good portion of the wall there and if we were to turn the lights off…
That’s really pretty good for a Nerf accessory. This would be useful for lighting up areas in the dark, for instance if you’re playing HVZ at night or something like that. The Tactical Light isn’t super bright and that gives its light like a scary movie feeling, like there could be a zombie around any corner. You never know.
Yeah, look at this projection. It’s about 12 feet away in a larger, more open room. I like the light, it seems pretty useful and it looks very tacti-cool.
Nerf Modulus Tactical Gear: The Grip Blaster
Finally you get the Grip Blaster. This thing is a Nerf foregrip and a Nerf blaster in one. You can attach it onto any tactical rail and it will serve as a foregrip. You can aim your blaster while holding on to this thing and, when the need arises, it doubles as a double shot Nerf blaster. You can pull the Prime on the bottom and then pull the trigger to fire one dart at a time.
Let’s throw this on a blaster and see what it looks like. I chose the OG Nerf Modulus again, because tactics. I slid it onto the bottom tactical rail and primed the blaster by pulling the priming handle down. Then I loaded it up with the two included Nerf Modulus Elite darts. You never know when you’re going to need it.
Gripping Performance
Let’s fire a few shots. I’m using the Grip Blaster to hold my blaster and we’re gonna fire off a few shots over there from the main blaster and then we’re gonna fire the Grip Blaster.
Upon priming the Grip Blaster again, I noticed that having a shoulder stock with this thing is almost mandatory. It will stabilize the blaster so you can prime the Grip Blaster with no wobble, wobble.
After that, I detached the Grip Blaster and took it for a mini firing test of its own, solo dolo. The Grip Blaster functions much like a Jolt with a Smart AR. Everything’s a Jolt.
Nerf Modulus Tactical Gear Final Thoughts
Alright, guys. That was the new Nerf Modulus Tactical Gear. It’s an assortment of attachments and accessories that are perpetuating the idea of a fully modular blaster. This, of course, was the original idea behind the Nerf Modulus ECS-10 and the entire Modulus line thereafter.
First, let’s go over my thoughts about the Nerf Modulus Tactical Light. It’s a sleek little rail mounted torch and I’ve got to say: this thing is awesome! It has such a sleek and thin form factor that it’s not going to be a burden or weight down your blaster. It barely sticks out from the blaster at all. It’s so perfect or utilitarian or whatever you want to call it. It does what it needs to do and nothing more, and that is light up your path so you can mow down zombies.
If you play in any Nerf Wars at night or you do HVZ on your campus or wherever at night, this thing is awesome. It’s going to save you from building your own or getting a real flashlight and awkwardly zip-tying it on. Nobody wants to do that anymore.
Next up in the Nerf Modulus Tactical Gear assortment is the Grip Blaster. It looks very cool and it slides on any N-Strike tactical rail with no issues. Well, save for one big issue: It is very loose and has a considerable wobble or shake to it. We already know Nerf tactical rail attachments are not the sturdiest. So if you’re really running around with this thing, trying to aim it, trying to take corners down with it… It’s probably going to fall off in your hands. I want to say break off, but it’s not going to break. It’s just literally going to detach.
Ultimately, the Grip Blaster is not the best option for a Nerf foregrip. However, it looks cool and has double the capacity of a standard Jolt. I actually like the Grip Blaster. The way I think you should use it is strictly as a backup blaster. Don’t even use it as a foregrip. Attach it onto a side tactical rail just for easy access when it’s needed.
Last and possibly least, is the Nerf Modulus Tactical Light Beam Green Laser Light Attachment. It looks fairly cool, but it’s just way too bulky. It sticks wayyyy out from any Nerf blaster you might put it on. And what it actually offers in the way of performance is exactly the same thing that we’ve had with the Recon, with the Deploy, with all that kind of stuff that came with the light attachments or the built-in lights.
I don’t think anyone was really expecting a laser, obviously, but the distance is lackluster. The brightness is lackluster. Everything about this is pretty much lackluster. I actually feel like the old Nite Finder light was better than this.
Should I Buy?
I can’t give you a quick and easy answer as to whether you should buy the Nerf Modulus Tactical Gear assortment of accessories and attachments. We have to go down the list of attachments one by one.
Right off the bat, though, I’ll say this.: At the price it’s going for, I would absolutely not buy the Nerf Modulus Targeting Light Beam Laser attachment thing. It severely underperforms and is really only there for the aesthetic. And that would normally be fine if it actually looked cool enough. However, the Tactical Light Beam is decidedly uncool. It’s just too bulky.
- N-Strike Elite blasters and Elite darts deliver the ultimate in blaster performance
- Mega Series blasters feature Mega Whistler Darts that scream through the air
- Defend against a zombie invasion with ZombieStrike blasters
- Ignite the night with FireVision sports gear that glows when thrown
- Raise your game with the Pro-Grip Football and Nerfoop basketball set
The other two attachments in the Nerf Modulus Tactical Gear assortment may be of more value. The Grip Blaster fails as a foregrip, but it’s a neat little, nice looking, small double shot blaster. It’s like a Nerf Triad or Jolt and it’s around the same price so you can’t really go wrong with this.

The Nerf Modulus Tactical Light is uber tacti-cool and I love it. It’s definitely not the strongest flashlight out there, but it’s functional. And the look is just a prime example of perfection in simplicity.
