Okay and now in our continuation of NY Toy Fair 2023 coverage, let’s head on over to the booth that I’m always never invited to, the Nerf Toy Fair booth! Hasbro doesn’t even technically have a booth at Toy Fair, they have an entirely different showroom a little ways away from Toy Fair in a secret, undisclosed location.
But, if you’re crazy dedicated enough, and you’ve been invited to the regular Toy Fair at the Javitz Center (where they also host NY ComicCon btw), then you can find the location of the Nerf event. And I have, at least twice. And I was shut down at the door… at least twice. Sadness.
Personal grievances aside, I’m always excited to see what new foam goodness Nerf has to present and this year was no different…. except the only thing Nerf had at their Nerf Toy Fair booth was 2 Nerf blasters that have already been released and… Nerfball? Wait, what?
Yup! They have on display the excellent Nerf Elite 2.0 Double Punch (review coming soon) and the brand new Nerf Pro Stryfe X (review also coming soon. I’m busy, okay?). So, two solid blasters, sure. But it’s nothing we haven’t seen — or already own!
There were also some Christmas themed Nerf Jolt re-shell things, but why is that even here? No clue. I think I also saw another weird Transformers Nerf blaster thing, but it did not hold my interest at all.
Okay, whatever, let’s go over some of these products…
Nerf Toy Fair Booth: The Nerf Double Punch
The Nerf Double Punch is a very fun blaster with an insanely cool gimmick. The Double Punch features an actual binary trigger that fires a second, echo dart, immediately after firing a dart and releasing the trigger. Yes, it first two darts with one trigger pull. This is a cool blaster and would have been awesome if it were being revealed here at the Nerf Toy Fair booth, but… it’s already out! I already own two of these things!
Nerf Toy Fair Booth: The Nerf Pro Stryfe X
The Stryfe X is Nerf’s first foray into the “Pro” blaster world of high-performance, competition ready, half-dart blasters! I am currently working on a review of this beastly little blaster, but… once again, it’s already out. If Nerf had debuted this blaster at the Nerf Toy Fair booth, people would have lost their minds!
Instead, they hinted or otherwise alluded to it across their social media channel for weeks and then had Luke from OutofDarts debut it on his YouTube channel. This was still a cool move and involved our community, which I love, but there’s nothing like some good old shock value sometimes. I like to be surprised, you know?
Also, I’m a bit salty because I came back from the dead and now nobody knows who I am anymore. Nerf and OutofDarts sent review samples of the new Nerf Pro Stryfe X to everyone and their momma… except me! It’s cool, though, guess I just need to work harder.
With that said, please bookmark this site and read it every single day, twice a day. Lol.
Nerf Toy Fair Booth Finale – the NERFBALL!
Lastly, we have the Nerfball. It was chilling on a table at the Nerf Toy Fair booth, right next to the Nerf Pro Stryfe X. I literally just wrote an article about what I think about Nerfball, so this seems kind of redundant.
Nerf themselves just had a huge promotional event where they hosted a Nerfball exhibition match and had OutofDarts as a coach on one of the teams. It was cool and it looked fun, but I mean, what else are they ready to share with us at their Toy Fair showroom? This exhibition match just happened the other day!
I guess it’s cool if they are there to answer more questions and release more info, but it just feels a tad bit underwhelming.
Nerf Toy Fair Booth Conclusions
For once, I’m not super disappointed from not being welcome at the Nerf Toy Fair booth. They had absolutely nothing new and nothing to hold my interest or draw my attention. I love the products they had on display, but we already know about all of that stuff. I miss when Nerf used to announce actual new blasters at Toy Fair. Oh well, I still love you, Nerf.
If you’re disappointed by Nerf’s showing at their Toy Fair showroom, head over to my other website, The Nerfer’s eMall, and browse some items over there. You might actually find something new and exciting, unlike at Toy Fair this year. Tag ya later, foam-heads!
