Hey guys! This is a quick overview News article to go with the companion YouTube video. In this article, I’ll cover all of the cool new Nerf gun blasters that are due to release over the next few months in a little more detail. Recently, an official Nerf retailer, EntertainmentEarth.com, posted a bunch of product description pages that each covered a new Nerf gun. The product pages each have an image or two and a short description. Each main image is a picture of the new Nerf gun, all accessories, and the box. So we get to learn a little extra than we knew previously. These new Nerf blasters all have prices, too. But judging from some of the other prices on the site, these may not be the official MSRP for these blasters. This is what a police detective would call “an orgy of evidence.” Or something like that. Anyway, here’s a list of all of the new Nerf blasters that I cover in the video, with my opinion of what I’m seeing.:

1. Nerf Modulus Recon Mk II 00:40 –

This new Nerf gun is the new Nerf Modulus spin on the old classic Nerf Recon CS-6. The base blaster is pretty much the same as the Recon/Retaliator, save for the addition of a hand guard on the grip and the addition of a tactical rail on the side of the magwell. (There’s probably one on the other side, too.) Also, it sports a different color scheme and a different barrel and stock attachment than previous offerings. The Nerf Modulus Recon Mk II is somewhat questionable, with a tiny looking stock and a paint job that doesn’t really match up with the current Modulus at all. I’m not quite sure why Nerf picked the Recon to revamp for the Modulus line. Although the current Retaliator is pretty popular, most everyone has to do some pretty extensive mods to the blaster to really enjoy it (i.e., internal mods, pump grip, etc.).

2. Nerf Modulus Ion Fire 01:48 –

Next up is the Nerf Modulus IonFire. This is a Nerf SharpFire re-shell for the Modulus line, but this time it’s super tacti-cool with its front barrel and stock attachment points, as well as 2 tactical rails. (All of those features were absent from the original SharpFire, which used a proprietary system for attaching its stock and barrel.) It comes with a barrel attachment and a 4-Dart dart holder attachment. It features a more standard Modulus paint job that should match up nicely if you use this as a backup blaster. The carry handle looks a little weird, but I still think it’s pretty cool. The tiny barrel looks neat and I love the dart holder. The handle also looks like it toned back the aggressiveness of the skeletal designs (no sharp edges).

2. Nerf Elite Dual-Strike 02:37 –

For our next new Nerf gun, we’re going to be taking a look at the Nerf Elite Dual Strike. It is the first Nerf gun that uses two different types of regular Nerf dart ammo (not including missile or grenade type ammo). Using a selector switch, you can switch between Elite or Mega darts. This blaster is pretty cool and the extra info was nice. The handle and general size of the blaster remind me of the Nerf MEGA Magnus. I like the idea behind this blaster very much. For one, it has a smart AR with a selector switch. Two, it fires Elite darts and Mega darts! This makes me think Nerf may deliver on my idea of an Elite primary (flywheel or springer) that has a MEGA shotgun masterkey attachment. One can hope.

3. Nerf Zombie Strike CrossCut 03:38 –

Out of all of the new Nerf gun revelations, this one just screams “gimmick.” Another off the wall Zombie Strike blaster, the CrossCut allows you to rev up a circular saw blade, which just happens to be attached to the front/bottom of the blaster and it’s held on with a red adjustable wrench. Ha! Although it’s highly gimmicky, it still looks very fun to me. I’m just a sucker for a good gimmick, though. If this was hammer action it would have been even cooler, in my opinion. It reminds me of a larger DoubleStrike, obviously with a full size circular saw blade attached, but still.

4. Nerf Rival 40-Round Refill Battle Case 04:40 –

This isn’t a new blaster, but it is a pretty darn cool new accessory for the Nerf Rival line. This battle case can be worn on your waist and can store a bunch of high impact rounds and it also has 2 tact rails on the outside of the case. So that means you can attach a couple of pairs of those brackets that come with the Rival 12-Dart Magazine and install 2 mags onto the battle case.

5. Nerf N-Strike Bowstrike 05:41 –

Bows and Jolts, Bows and Jolts, Bows and Jolts! This is basically “Hasbow” taunting us with a bow, Jolt, and reshell all in one package. Touche, Nerf. Touche. No, but it really is a direct re-shell of the recent Nerf Snapfire. It looks way cooler, in my opinion, and it has the gimmicky bow arms and sight that pop up or out or whatever. Yeah. Depending on the price, this might not be a bad little pickup.

6. Nerf Mega Lightning Bow 06:38 –

Think Thunder comes before Lightning? Think again. The Mega Lightning Bow is a big Mega Dart firing bow, like the Mega Thunderbow. But, it’s basically a Bigshock re-shell in bow form. Go figure. It looks pretty cool and its color scheme seems to differ from the standard all red and white of all the other Mega blasters. Also, it’s not as huge as the Thunderbow, but that’s about it. I think I’m going to have to pass on this one. Time will tell.

7. Nerf Rebelle Allegiant Training Blaster 07:29 –

Nerf takes on a movie license for its Nerf Rebelle line of blasters. The movie is the Divergent series and the blasters actually look pretty cool so far. The blaster from this training set is a repaint of the Nerf Rebelle Pink Crush blaster, sans the silly bow arms. This blaster is also very gender neutral and doesn’t feature any colors or designs that necessarily scream “this is for a girl!”

8. Nerf Rebelle Lumanate 08:00 –

This is another blaster that uses what we know as FireFly Tech, but in real life it’s just called glow-in-the-dark. The Lumanate has an illuminated clip and comes with 3 glow darts. Any time I hear about glow in the dark Nerf blasters, I instantly think of the Nerf Rayven, which is a great blaster from the N-Strike Elite series of blasters. I love the glow in the dark gimmick and it always piques my interest when a new blaster comes out using that feature. Unfortunately this isn’t a flywheel blaster, but it is what it is — I’ll wait and see.
