UPDATE:: EVEN MORE NEW NERF BLASTERS HAVE BEEN REVEALED! HEAD TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POST TO READ ABOUT THE NEW ONES…
Nerf Nation!! It’s been a while… BUT, I’m back now (and better than ever?) and it’s time for another edition of…
NGA Nightly Nerf News!
Guess who’s back? Back again? Blee is back. Tell a friend… And guess what else? I haven’t come alone. I come bearing gifts. The gift of news! I’m here to tell you about a bunch of new Nerf guns 2016. So without any more babbling, let’s just jump right in and get to it… If you don’t want to read all of this, you can click any picture to be taken to the corresponding First Impressions video, over on my YouTube channel.
New Nerf Guns 2016: The Nerf Rival Khaos MXVI-4000 Blaster.:
First up is a new entry in the Nerf RIVAL series of blasters. And boy does it look impressive. Remember all those full-auto mods for the Nerf Rival Zeus? You know, the one I never got around to doing? Well, it isn’t necessary anymore. Nerf will release the full auto Rival Khaos some time later this year. Also gone is the trademark bullpup configuration of the Zeus and the PDW type magazine loading. This one takes a huge, 40 round magazine that looks almost like 4 of the regular Rival mags lined up next to each other. Interesting. Otherwise, things look pretty similar, with the large tac rail up top and the extremely tacticool flip up sights. Seems to be another tac rail under the muzzle and is that an adjustable stock? Maybe. The Rival Khaos takes 6 D size batteries to power things up, so this will be one heavy blaster. Overall, I think this is an extremely cool design, but what do you guys think?
New Nerf Guns 2016: Nerf MEGA Mastodon Blaster.:
Now this is the one everyone is going crazy over, and for good reason. This is the world’s first flywheel powered Mega blaster. Or at least, I think it is. It says it is motorized and it runs on 6 D batteries, but… That doesn’t necessarily mean it uses flywheels. What if they brought back the tech from the Nerf Stampede? That would be too awesome. If it is flywheel powered, then it must run off of an on/off switch like the Barricade/Stockade blasters, because I don’t see a rev trigger. Another option is it operates like the Nerf Rhino-Fire, where it revs the flywheels and fires with the same trigger. And, given its size, this does put us in MEGA Vulcan/Rhino-Fire territory. So, yeah. This thing looks massive and I have a feeling you’re going to need that top carry handle and that included sling very much. Firing capacity is a whopping 24 Mega Darts. Are you excited yet?
New Nerf Guns 2016: Nerf N-Strike Modulus Tri-Fire Blaster.:
Holy cow. While a lot of people are most excited for the Mastodon, I think this one takes the prize for me. You guys should know by now that I’m something of a Modulus fanboy, so yeah… Wow. The Modulus Tri-Strike fires three different kinds of ammunition. It fires Elites, Megas, and Demolisher missiles! What!? This easily trumps the recently released DualStrike. And the missile launcher is powered by an air tank, like a Titan! The stock clearly houses an air tank and if you look closely, it looks like you can pump the back of the stock to build up air pressure! Another thing that I like is, in typical Modulus fashion, the missile launcher is fully detachable and able to connect to any other tac rail. Imagine putting this on the original Modulus ECS-1o! You’ll have to put the stock on too, but that’s incredibly awesome. If you look closely at the back of the launcher, you’ll see an N-Strike stock attachment point. What that means is that you can take off the stock and the launcher and put them together, creating a standalone air tank pressured missile launcher! (RIP Thunderblast…) Now on to the rest of the blaster. The front barrel attachment is the one with the built in under barrel Mega dart launcher. Launcher, yeah… That’s somewhat disappointing to me. You fire the Mega darts like you fire the Demolisher missile launcher. I hate it when they do stuff like that. I would have preferred some kind of prime and trigger operation. But, the whole barrel seems to be independent as well, meaning you can attach this to any other blaster and have built in Mega dart firing capabilities. Too cool. Moving on to the main body blaster, it seems to be like a Longstrike body almost. It is magazine fed, way at the front of the blaster and there seems to be a bolt to slide to prime the blaster. Pretty cool. This is definitely better than the top slide method of the Retaliator, but I wonder if the bolt is on both sides? Anyway, I’m extremely excited for this one, guys. Tell me what you think!
New Nerf Guns 2016: Nerf Elite Hyper-Fire Blaster.:
Hail-Fire, eat your heart out. While it can’t compare in ammo capacity, the new Elite Hyper-Fire blaster seems to best that other blaster in every way possible. This seems to be another new full-auto blaster for the Elite lineup. We haven’t had one of those in rifle form since the Rapidstrike came out a few years ago. And this thing looks too cool. Very futuristic design elements are at play here and I do love it. The stock looks long and comfortable and the handguard, which houses the rev trigger and the mag release button, looks very cool as well. Hopefully, it proves to be a good size, because small handguards and/or thumbhole stocks are a pet peeve of mine. (I’m looking at you Crossfire Bow.) Hasbro is going to be pushing this as the fastest firing Nerf blaster yet, so expect it to trump Rapidstrike performance. And, it comes with a new 25-Dart Drum magazine. Whether the change is purely aesthetic is yet to be determined. I see a bunch of sling mounts, but no tactical rails or even room for barrel extensions. Also, what do you think that little orange button on top is for?
New Nerf Guns 2016: Conclusions.:
Well, that about does it for this one, guys. Do tell me what you think of all of these blasters, down in the comments section below! This news was released right ahead of the upcoming New York Toy Fair! That’s the annual event where all of the toymakers reveal their upcoming products for the year. And, if all goes well, I will be there and bringing you information and updates in real time across my social media accounts. There will be many updates to the website about all of the new products, and probably a few YouTube videos, too. So make sure you’re following me on all of these sites. Okay, that’s all, folks. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time!

UPDATE:: EVEN MORE NEW NERF BLASTERS HAVE BEEN REVEALED!
Okay, same thing. You can read my description, or you can click the pic and be taken to a video over on my YouTube, where I talk about them for a few minutes… On to the show!
New Nerf Guns 2016: Nerf Doomlands Double Dealer Blaster.:
The new Nerf Doomlands 2169 Double Dealer blaster is what you would get if you combined two Nerf Elite Rampage blasters. They have basically “Rhino’d” the Rampage. That is, they’ve added two barrels, side by side, just like the Rhino-Fire. Each barrel is also fed by its own dedicated magazine. In this case, the Double Dealer seems to include two brand new Doomlands 12 round magazines. Down under the barrels is a fairly large pump grip with a handguard. This makes it look just like a sword handle. Very cool. And yes, Slam-Fire is enabled on this blaster. It has an integrated shoulder stock, which may or may not be a bad thing. The stock looks very blocky and wide and could possibly contain some kind of dart storage. I think this blaster seems pretty awesome, and if we can avoid banging into and knocking over everything, and getting stuck in doorways, I think we may have a winner here!
New Nerf Guns 2016: Nerf Zombie Strike Brainsaw Blaster.:
Wow. Just wow. This is the latest off-the-wall design from the Zombie Strike series of Nerf blasters. This one is clearly a product of the warm reception and apparent success of the recently released Nerf Zombie Strike Crosscut blaster. Instead of a mere circular saw blade, this one comes with the entire chainsaw. And the base blaster is basically a Nerf Elite Rough Cut. There are 8 barrels total, 4 on either side of the chainsaw. At the bottom of this blaster, is what looks like a jerry-rigged screwdriver. Pumping this screwdriver is how you prime the blaster. Up top, there is a large carry handle, just like you’d find on an actual chainsaw. Directly behind this is the pull cord. You must pull this to operate the chainsaw spin, similar to how a real life chainsaw is started. This thing is bonkers and sure to be a blast to use, even if it appears that the whole chainsaw doesn’t move or rotate.

New Nerf Guns 2016: Nerf N-Strike Modulus BattleScout ICS-10 Blaster.:
More Nerf Modulus stuff for me to fangirl over… But, wait — ICS? What’s that mean? Integrated Clip System, you say? What the what!? We’re reverting back to what we had with the Magstrike? We’re reverting back to what BoomCo is doing now with its own clip system blasters? What!? Um, c’mon Hasbro. Please! You take what looks to be a very nice looking shell, and then you even add an angled pump-action foregrip to the mix… and then you give it a silly 10 dart integrated clip!? I hope I’m wrong about this one. I hope it is a boatload of fun to use this, but… at this time, I can’t pretend to be excited about this. What were they thinking? Oh, it also features an HD, 720p Action Cam that can be attached to any tactical rail. Luckily, this camera is promised to be infinitely better than what we got with the Nerf Cam. I’m so mad about this one.

when is the nerf modulus tristrike coming out? I’m thinking about buying it once it does.
Blee Ng says
It was just recently announced, so no telling for sure. Sometime around late summer/early autumn at the latest. I’ll have more info after the NY Toy Fair; which takes place in 2 weeks.
conner says
Thanks Blee I look forward to the end of the summer or whenever it comes out. Can you tell me where you got tue info from?
Blee says
Wow! I totally missed this comment, sorry. The factual info was taken from the source articles that I link to at the bottom of a few different sections in my article above. Everything else is my own speculation or opinions and predictions…

Slyprophet says
The mastodon will be a mega adaptation of the vulcan, guaranteed. It’s even 90 of the same body…
Blee says
That would be pretty cool actually. Time will tell, though. I might go to the NY Toy Fair, so I’ll be able to tell for sure… Standby
griffin says
sorry blee i have a request for you can you please make a post on 2016 attatchments
Blee says
What do you mean? The new Modulus stuff? Or just the state of all attachments available in 2016?
Henry says
My only complaint is no new “sniper” like gun. However, I’m definitely going to be buying the mastodon. It looks amazing.
Blee says
The Modulus Tri-Strike can be made into a pretty epic sniper rifle with the right attachments. The main blaster body just screams Elite Longstrike…
mundanogames says
Do you know when the Rival Khoas is released, or when abouts?
Blee says
Should be out in the middle of August, most likely. Nothing is confirmed, though…
Timothy J Getz says
I want da mastodon because it is big and shoots MEGA darts and it also for wheels\the first mega fly wheels and carries 24 darts.
Hayden says
I just got my son the hyperfire. I will be getting myself one in the next few days. I absolutely love this gun.
