Hi, I’m Mr. Beast and… wait, no I’m not. I’m not Mr Beast. Dang it! I wish. But I’m only Blee (from NerfGunAttachments Bleenga.com). Who cares, right? We’re not here for me, we’re here for the new MrBeast Gel Blaster!
1. MrBeast’s Newest Merch is… a Nerf Blaster?!
The Nerf pro Gelfire X MrBeast is the first Nerf blaster that’s actually YouTuber merch! That’s right, Nerf has collaborated with the world’s biggest YouTuber, MrBeast! (or as I like to call him: Jimmy) to bring you their third gel ball Nerf Blaster (and their first MrBeast Gel Blaster) featuring an extended barrel, a collapsible shoulder stock, and a 300 round hopper. Yep! It also runs off of a rechargeable LiPo battery. I believe it’s the first time Nerf has included an actual LiPo battery. Much wow!
- NERF PRO GELFIRE BLASTERS: They fire hydrated rounds that burst on impact and deliver high-performance blasting to ignite your competitive advantage. Ages 14 and up
- NERF PRO GELFIRE X MR BEAST BLASTER: Takes its inspiration from Mr Beast aka Jimmy Donaldson, an American digital creator who has amassed over 100 million subscribers in the last 10 years and become an icon amongst younger generations around the world
The MrBeast Gel Blaster features two tactical rails; one up top and one below, just behind the grip. Now this is the definition of tacti-cool, because the one up top is blocked by the hopper and the one on the bottom… what do you even put there???
What’s in the Box?
So the MrBeast Gel Blaster comes with 20,000 gel fire rounds, which in case you didn’t know, are basically Nerf-made Orbeez. They’re shrunken down and dried out, like little Sea Monkeys. So you put them in water for a few hours and then they swell up and get all jello-y like, like gel jelly gel-bead thingies. Or something like that. It also includes the high-discharge lithium polymer rechargeable battery, a USB-C charging cable and a pair of clear safety goggles. If you want to see a full unboxing video, I have a short video over on my channel here: Unboxing the BRAND NEW MrBeast Nerf Gelfire Blaster!
2. MrBeast Gel Blaster: Mythic Comparisons
The main form factor of this blaster is identical to Nerf’s first gel Blaster, the Nerf Pro Gelfire Mythic. Everything is exactly the same, except for obviously the paint job. That and the Gelfire Mythic came with the typical gel blaster hopper that points straight up, just like paintball. It held more rounds than the MrBeast Gel Blaster, but it looked completely ridiculous and it obstructed your view when trying to aim down the sights. This blaster fixes all of those problems and while it does sacrifice over half of its ammo capacity to do it, I’d still take it over the Gelfire Mythic.
I’ve always been more of an aesthetic Nerfer than a functional one. That’s why I always chose the Nerf Zombie Strike Slingfire instead of the Buzz Bee Air Warriors Sentinel. You got to look good, you’ve got to look flashy. Just ask Tengen Uzui.
Beastly Ergonomics
This thing features an adjustable, collapsible shoulder stock that’s actually, for once, the perfect size for me. I love this thing! The grip is also super comfortable. This pistol grip right here? I love it! And up front, the hand rest area, likewise very comfortable. The MrBeast Gel Blaster overall is an ergonomic masterpiece!
Big Cat Aesthetics
The aesthetics, you know, are more subjective. The MrBeast Gel Blaster features this synth-wavy MrBeast signature colorways of light blue and pink. His logo is featured on the side of the hopper and his name adorns the front end of the blaster, on either side, so we don’t even have full economy paint here. They did pretty well. Now me personally, I love the colors (and the ergonomics) so this is a win-win. The only thing left is the performance and I’ve never shot a gel blaster before, so I’m looking forward to that. Let’s do it!
3. How To Use the MrBeast Gel Blaster
But before we shoot the thing, let’s talk about how to operate it properly. First, you dump a pack of the Gelfire rounds into a LARGE container of water and let them soak for a few hours. Then you fill up the hopper by pouring them in. I find this part sort of annoying, as it’s hard to effectively pour in this tiny bouncy Gelfire rounds without spilling a bunch of them. You might want to pick up an Ammo Tub to make this part easier.
Next, flip the MrBeast Gel Blaster upside down and screw in the hopper. It should take about half a turn. Pop in your battery (that you should have been charging since you got the blaster) and then you’re in business. All you have to do is pull the trigger to shoot.
There’s a Select-Fire Knob on the back of the blaster, right above the stock, that you can use to change the firing mode from semi-auto to fully automatic. There’s also a 3rd option which is to turn the blaster off, so I probably should have mentioned that first. It won’t shoot if you don’t have it either on full or semi-automatic.
Beast Mode Performance?
I’m scared to shoot this thing inside. I don’t know what kind of mess these Orbeez make when you shoot them or, excuse me, these Gelfire rounds. I shot one in here and didn’t really see a mess, but yeah, I don’t want to clean up, so it’s time to move outside and do the firing test there. For sure. As always, you can watch the firing test portion of my video review and see the MrBeast Gel blaster in action if you click on the video down below.
All right, guys, so that was it. That was the Nerf Pro Gelfire X MrBeast Gel Blaster. I had a lot of fun with this thing. Shooting those little Gelfire round Orbeez things was a blast! Being able to shoot full-auto for that long without running out of ammo was an experience I’m not quite used to and I definitely enjoyed it. Watching the gel beads explode when they hit anything was really cool as well. After I was done, there was more debris on the ground than I expected, but all of that basically dried up and disintegrated or washed away with the rain and that was that. So no clean up! Gotta love that, am I right?
4. The MrBeast Gel Blaster is a BEAST!
Admittedly, this is my first time shooting a gel blaster and I think that’s what Nerf’s target audience is with these blasters, because I’ve heard this is not even close to being the best gel blaster on the market. But if you love MrBeast, just get this thing! You’re not going to be disappointed unless you’re a really high-end enthusiast of gel blasters. You’re probably not going to know the difference if you just buy this and you have no experience with gel ball blasters. You’re gonna have a blast, just like I did.
The MrBeast Gel Blaster is just FUN. It shoots pretty fast and it’s fully automatic, there’s really no mess to clean up – especially if you shoot it outside. These things will disintegrate, if not right away then within a few days. There’s absolutely no dart pickup. It’s pretty flipping fun. I wonder what it feels like to get shot with this though…
Torture! Pain Tolerance Test
Click the video above to be taken directly to the Pain Tolerance portion of my video review. I let my kids take over for this part and they just completely unloaded the MrBeast Gel blaster on me. And it hurt. A lot! And they definitely enjoyed it. Maybe a little too much. I was getting shot in the back, chest, stomach, and directly in the neck thanks to my dear daughter. You can see the damage they left on me at the end of the Torture Test portion of the video and let me tell you: it took DAYS to go away. Lol.
Final Thoughts and Opinions
The MrBeast Gel Blaster is super comfortable and very, very ergonomically pleasing. It has a shoulder stock that’s just… perfect! It’s the perfect length for me. I love the size of this. I love the pistol grip. I love the hand-rest area up front. I love it all! This blaster is a nice little compact sub machinegun, SMG, machine pistol — whatever you want to call it, whatever you want to class it as, it’ll be that and it won’t disappoint you.
@Bleenga
The looks are something that are more opinion based. But there are options for you if you don’t like the color choices here. Well, one option. The Nerf Pro Gelfire Mythic is the same exact blaster as this with a more “normal” paintjob and a larger, if not more obtrusive, hopper. So if you’re a fan of Jimmy or of synthwave, get the MrBeast Gel Blaster. If you’re not a fan, or want more traditional colors, get the Gelfire Mythic. Easy.
5. The Competition!
Unlike MrBeast himself, the MrBeast Gel Blaster DOES have some competition. Nerf is not the first (or the best) to ever make a gel blaster. So, first up we have the obvious, Gel Blaster themselves. Yes, there’s a company just called “Gel Blaster,” so you know they mean business. The Gel Blaster Surge is a blaster that’s very similar in function and performance to the MrBeast Gel Blaster (and the Gelfire Mythic). Also, X-Shot has got into the Gel game recently and that’s very interesting – but more on that later.
Should I Buy?
If you’re typically into Nerf, give this a try. You’ll probably have fun. Though, like with me it’s not going to be replacing Nerf blasters, but it’s a pretty novel and welcome addition. It’s so much fun. The hopper fed pretty reliably, I didn’t have to shake it constantly, it just fed. I shot all the little balls and I had fun doing it. So that’s about it, that’s all I can tell you. The MrBeast Gel blaster in my opinion looks extremely cool. I love that they streamlined the hopper and sacrificed some capacity for a hopper that just looks better and makes more sense to me.

Now do they sell hoppers individually? That’s the real question, because I’d love to have a couple of these loaded and just pop in a new one whenever I’m empty.
That’s about all for this one. I actually am having a lot of fun with this thing I’m about to go load it up and shoot it again! That’s all for this one guys.
